SEBORRHOEIC KERATOSIS Treatments Include:
treatment for seborrhoeic keratosis IN CHEADLE, MANCHESTER
Seborrhoeic keratoses, also known as seborrhoeic warts, are harmless brown to black skin lesions which appear to be stuck on the surface of the skin. Although they are also called seborrhoeic warts, they are not infectious.
These are very common and are the result of a build up of skin cells, some people may only have a few, while others will have large numbers. They most often appear on the trunk of the body, the head and neck, with the size varying from less than 1cm, to several centimetres. They are most commonly found in older people, however people of any age can develop them. On dark skin, they can appear as small dark brown or black bumps, these are called Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra.
TREATING SEBORRHOEIC KERATOSIS
Seborrhoeic keratoses are not cancerous and they have virtually no risk of progressing to skin cancer so there is no medical necessity for these to be removed. However, seborrhoeic keratosis can be unsightly or get itchy or sore. A very dark seborrhoeic keratosis can have similar characteristics to melanoma skin cancer, so it is important that you get any pigmented lesion that you are worried about checked by an expert.
We believe in providing the most effective and cosmetically acceptable treatments for skin conditions. Our recommended treatment for seborrhoeic keratosis is usually laser treatment which gives the best cosmetic outcome and is most effective.
